Bribing your twins
I have an article in the May issue of babytalk about when bribing your baby is okay (check it out at parenting.com). Of course, as moms of twins, we may tend to do it an tiny bit more than moms of singletons. Anyways, this great blogger for the Wall Street Journal wrote a little piece on my article, and I am so flattered! So I want to give her on-line column a shout out. It's called thejuggle/wsj.com and she's a smart and funny writer who focuses on balancing work and mommy life issues. And there are so many of those to talk about. Check her out.
Also, let us know what you gals think about bribing your twins. For the record, I let my four year olds have a big bakery cookie before breakfast this morning so I could finish up an article I'm writing for another publication. You do what you gotta do. At least I do!

My views on kid bribing...well, I think its okay. Not all the time, of course, but I've been known to promise treats in exchange for good behavior or just a little bit of quiet time! My treats are usually simple things, like letting them have a friend over, or an extra story at bed time, or maybe getting to play dress up in Mommy's shoes. I have been known to use food, but prefer not to. I have found (with my girls, anyway) that the promise of something that they really want later keeps them behaving well for longer. All in all, I think its okay to bribe as long as you don't do it too often. My opinion! haha
